FINAL CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

We are looking for a few more SPECTACULAR submissions to fill the final spots in our Out of the Green: Tales from Fairyland Anthology.

Submissions will be open until July 15, 2014. Please follow the guidelines, stories that do not contain fairies will be DELETED with NO RESPONSE.

Where do you find fairyland? Is it down the path? Is it on the top floor of an abandoned warehouse? Have you left the Green, or do you escape it?

Give us fairies, pixies, nymphs, sprites, gnomes, and goblins. We want stories of romance, mischief, torture, and maybe a little bit of revenge. We’re not looking for fairytales, though, so leave the damsels in distress behind. Push the limits. Mix genres. Give us something new. (We accept young adult!)

We are particularly interested in mixed genres and unusual, unexpected characters. Think Steampunk, Victorian, or Sci-fi (with fairies!). Think good turning evil or unlikely villains. We’re partial to dark stories that make you think and stories with strong, witty characters. We’d love to see LGBT characters.

Stories should be 2,000 – 4,500 words, with longer and shorter stories considered on a case-by-case basis. Please visit our SUBMISSIONS page for guidelines.

Reflection Pond Now Available

You can now get your copy of Reflection Pond by our very own Kacey Vanderkarr.

Sometimes you find home, sometimes it comes looking for you.

Callie knows a lot more about pain than she does about family. She’s never belonged, at least, not until she falls through a portal into her true home. The beautiful faerie city of Eirensae doesn’t come free. Callie must find her amulet and bind herself to the city, and most importantly, avoid the Fallen fae who seek her life. Seems like a small price to pay for the family she’s always wanted.

Then she meets cynical and gorgeous Rowan, who reads the darkness of her past in her eyes. He becomes Callie’s part-time protector and full-time pain in the ass. He has secrets of his own for Callie to unravel. What they don’t know is that the future of Eirensae lies with them, and the once peaceful city is about to become a battleground for power.

SUBMISSIONS OPENING AGAIN SOON

Our submission period has now ended. Any new submissions will be deleted.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted to Out of the Green: Tales from Fairyland. We are hard at work sifting through submissions and making decisions. Please be patient as these are not easy choices.

Due to an abundance of flash fiction and poetry, we have decided to reopen our doors Nov. 1, 2013-Jan 1, 2014, for SHORT STORY SUBMISSIONS ONLY.

Please be aware that this is a themed anthology.
